The Silver Canadian Maple Leaf places the leaf motif at the centre of a one-ounce silver coin. It is a separate series from the Gold Maple Leaf, with its own dimensions, denomination and appearance. The modern standard issue measures 38 mm and is made of 99.99% silver.
The leaf’s branching veins and sharply defined edges are the focus of the reverse. Modern issues add radial lines to the surrounding field, giving the surface a different appearance from earlier editions.
